school_bus(2)What kind of transportation is available? Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, who live within the River East Transcona School Division, and at least 1.6 km from the school, may be able to ride River East Transcona buses to River East Collegiate. Students in Grades 7 through 10 can ride the River East Transcona buses in the morning if they live outside the Perimeter highway. Transportation is granted by the school division on a space-available basis. Application forms are available at the school office. In addition, Calvin Christian School offers a shuttle bus service between the collegiate campus on Day Street and the elementary campus on Sutton Ave, and also a country route (Oakbank, Dugald areas) and an extended route (East St. Paul area). Families requiring any of these services will need to complete the Calvin Christian School transportation application. Space is limited, so it is imperative that you register early. The route for the country and extended services and also pick up and drop-off times will be determined in late August. Parents will be contacted with that information prior to the first day of school. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

Bus Rules:  For a list of bus rules, please click HERE. If the bus rules are not followed, the driver will complete a Bus Misconduct Form which will be submitted to the school principal, and a copy sent to the student’s parents/guardians.

What about bad weather?

  1. If Sunrise School Division buses are not running, our country route will be cancelled.  However, shuttle service (both a.m. and p.m.) and the extended route at the end of the day, will continue as usual.
  2. If River East Transcona School Division buses are not running, then all our bus services will be cancelled for the day.
  3. If Winnipeg area schools are closed, Calvin Christian School is closed.
