It should be noted that school doors are not officially open until 8:00 a.m. Students arriving earlier than 8:00 a.m. are required to attend the before school program.
Code of Conduct
Through our Code of Conduct policy, the elementary campus seeks to nurture students in Christ-like living, critical thinking and joyful service. In this way, we aim to help students become effective members in the Christian community in God’s world.
As a community of Christians who have come together to educate children in the ways of the Lord, CCS supports its parents in expecting students to lead Christ-honouring lives, not only at school, but outside of school hours as well. Our public conduct should be consistent with our basic philosophy of life – to love God above all and to love our neighbours as ourselves. That love should be reflected in all our actions and attitudes toward each other. Since the school bears the name of Jesus Christ, a high standard is expected of students.
Obey those whom God has placed in authority and conduct themselves as responsible citizens who contribute to the welfare of the greater community.
Students and staff must behave in a respectful manner and comply with the Code of Conduct. God created us all. We are, therefore, precious and valuable in His sight. He expects us to show respect for all people regardless of race or gender (I Corinthians 8:13; Romans 12). It is the school’s covenantal responsibility to love and care for the children in our classrooms. Nevertheless, all students, are expected to:
- Refrain from practices that the Bible does not condone.

This Christian conduct policy is not intended to be simply a legalistic definition of right and wrong. It does not propose to set up the school as a “policing” agency. Rather, its purpose is to help students and to allow them to be unhindered in their pursuit of knowledge, personal growth and spiritual maturity. (Hebrews 12:1-3)
Expectations & Responsibilities of Staff, Students, and Parent(s)/Guardian(s)
Staff shall:
- create a positive Christ-centered learning environment where all students are accepted and encouraged to develop self-esteem, respect, and their God-given gifts.
- encourage the involvement of parents/guardians in educational decisions that involve their children.
- operate on the premise that school, church and home work together for the benefit of all students.
- treat parents, students and fellow staff members with dignity and respect at all times.
- provide a positive role model for students.
- provide an environment that promotes self-esteem and self-discipline.
Students shall:
Respect the rights and safety of others by:
- developing self-discipline.
- demonstrating behaviour that contributes to an orderly, supportive, and safe learning environment.
- respecting and demonstrating consideration for other cultures.
- complying with the school’s dress code.
- expressing themselves with acceptable language and behaviour.
- Utilize careful judgment in the exercise of personal freedom. (Galatians 5:16-24) (I Corinthians 8:9-13)
- resolving conflicts and difficulties with others through discussion or by seeking assistance from school personnel.
Make a commitment to promote their academic success by:
- attending school regularly and punctually.
- coming to class on time with all necessary materials (e.g. textbooks, pencils, pens, notebooks, etc.)
- completing assignments and handing them in on time.
- participating, to the best of their ability, in classroom and school activities.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) shall:
- attend parent/teacher conferences, school meetings and events, and support the school.
- maintain open communication with staff by addressing concerns through the proper lines of communication.
- treat all staff with dignity and respect.
- assist their children in establishing positive attitudes towards achievement as well as respect for peers, school personnel and property.
- inform the school of problem areas or areas of behavioural concern.
- seek to solve problems in a manner respectful of all involved.
- discuss the school’s Code of Conduct and school policies with their children and model support for it.
The modelling of conduct that we desire students to emulate is an ongoing responsibility for all the adults in a child’s life – at school, at play, and at home.
